About the Job

Our client has a requirement for Senior  Project Manager for a 12 months contract opportunity.  The position is located in Toronto.

Role

Our Financial Services client is looking for a seasoned (Applications) Project Manager to join her the team within P&C Canada for a 12 month contract with possibility to extend to 12 months. This individual should be able to run any project that is given to them. This individual should be someone with exceptional soft skills who has demonstrated an ability to work with any type of project team, resolve issues, deal with ambiguity and politics, and communicate effectively with high level executives. The candidate must have experience running large complex IT initiatives (across multiple platforms).  

Qualifications

•  Proven experience managing large scale applications projects (Budgets of approximately $10M) • Experience managing a medium-large sized project team • Experience running large complex IT initiatives (across multiple platforms) • Previous financial experience; Proven Banking experience would be an asset (but is not required) • Demonstrated ability to deal with budget, tight deadlines, ambiguity, politics, etc.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Advanced time management skills
• Advanced financial management skills
• Advanced scope management skills
• Ability to develop project plans, manage individual deadlines and goals.
• Knowledge of project metrics, including gathering, reporting, trend analysis, creation, and metrics.
• Advanced proficiency with all MS Office applications, MS Project and/or Visio.
• Highly organized with good time management skills.
• Customer service orientation, strong interpersonal skills.
• Analytical thinker with creative problem solving skills and attention to detail 

Education / Certifications

• Bachelor degree in an IT-related discipline • PMP certification is an asset, but not required
