About the Job

Our client has a requirement for a SAS /Unix/DB2 Developer for a 6 Month Contract opportunity. The position is located in Toronto, ON.

Role

We are looking for an IT Solutions Developer for production support and have at least six years experience in the following technical skills/tools: SAS Macro programming, AIX/Unix, DB2, SAS, Websphere. 

Responsibilities

• Development & support of maintenance releases for the AML application. (Application components reside on distributed AIX platforms). 
• Maintenance of the AML DEV environments including source code management. 
• Application tools support, such as Enterprise Guide (EG), UI, MKS & FSECURE. 
• Support of access setups for all developers and business users 
• Support day-to-day AML production and business support 
• Prepare test plans, test data and test environments 
• Prepare implementation packages for system deployment 
• Design and development of quality solutions for program/system issues consistent with client requirements following technology architecture standards. 
• Deliver effective and efficient solutions by meeting key project milestones and overall project deliverables on time, within budget and adhering to development and quality standards. 
• Conduct program/system research, analysis, design and problem resolution 
• Test and debug using appropriate tools and participating in reviewing peer code. 
• Comply with the system development life cycle (SDLC) and project management methodology (PMLC). 
• Support IT Manager in developing applicable SDLC project documents 
• Participate in knowledge transfer with the team and business units 

Requirements or Qualifications:

• SAS Macro programming, AIX/Unix, DB2, SAS, Websphere 
• Application tools support, such as Enterprise Guide (EG), UI, MKS & FSECURE (please add in the comment section which application tools were used recently) 
• Ability to code, debug and trouble-shoot 
• SDLC, PMLC, Testing 

Nice to have: 

• SAS education & training courses is an asset and preferred 
• Financial / Banking industry experience 

The following skills are an asset:

• HP Quality Centre 
• Mercury Test Tool 
• Experience with MKS (source integrity) and CA7 
• Host Skills & Knowledge 

Specific Education Requirements: 

• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or Engineering is an asset and preferred. 
• SAS education & training courses is an asset and preferred.
