Job Description
Our client has a requirement for a Remedy Administrator for 8 months contract. The position is located in North York, Toronto.

Summary
Reporting to the Application Support Manager, the Remedy Administrator is responsible to provide, under general supervision, technical and administrative support for the company’s Remedy application.  As well as supporting the day-to-day operation of Remedy, this position will undertake projects and activities related to the design, selection, evaluation, and implementation of Remedy upgrades within the company under the supervision of senior staff.

Responsibilities
  • Provide timely Level 2 technical support to ensure efficient and reliable operation of all Remedy modules  (Incident, Problem, Change, Known Error and Service Requests), including provisioning of users, workflow maintenance, release management, license management and Level 2 break / fix support as required
  • Monitor queue and maintain adequate day-to-day production operations support and maintenance and includes, but is not limited to, changes (new, change, delete) of personnel, products, workflows, views of data, and/or reports.
  • Gather with user, system, and support requirements and provide solutions to meet customer requirements of the Remedy application
  • Maintain proper documentation
  • Support client IT processes such as change management, incident management, problem management, including implement all changes, upgrades, etc. according to Company change control procedures. 
  • Act as a consultant to and other IT departments on the use of Remedy as it pertains to related technology 
  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of Remedy Administration and determine how best practices for Remedy can be utilized within client
  • Evaluate Remedy software as directed, preparing reports and recommendations

Contacts and Purpose
  • Ongoing contact with IT Service Management, IT Service Desk, Corporate Technical Support and Computer Operations to support new requests or requests for changes, to resolve issues, and to provide Level 2 technical application administration and production support.

Skills and Experience
  • Remedy Skilled Professional (RSP) certification, BMC Certified Administrator or other advanced Remedy training classes
  • Experience with relevant operating systems, applications, programming languages and technologies (including the BMC Remedy Action Request System, Mid-Tier, ITSM Suite components)
  • Experience with advanced relevant technologies: BMC Remedy Flashboards, Dashboards, Analytics, Approval Engine, Web Services and API programming, SQL Server, Unix; Java; C++, etc).
  • Effective technical writing and documentation skills
  • Good Analytic, diagnostic and problem solving skills
  • Able to work with minimum supervision, taking ownership for the successful completion of work assignments
  • Detail oriented
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
