About the Job

Our client has a requirement for an Java Developer for a 6 Month Contract opportunity.  The position is located in Toronto, ON.

We are looking for a Technical Lead with hands-on development experience along with co-ordination and leadership experience. This position would be a six month contract with an opportunity to go full time. 

Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum 12 years of development experience, 6 years using Java technologies
• Experience with on-line development, SQL, internet technologies 
• Experience with Web Services, SOAP, JAX-WS 
• Experience with Java, JSP, Websphere, JEE, XML and XSL 
• Experience with frameworks such as JSF, RichFaces, Spring and IBATIS 
• Deep understanding of WebSphere – deployment, diagnostics, troubleshooting
• Solid object oriented design experience including applying design best practices (GOF, J2EE design patterns) and Web Services design/development
• Ability to evaluate tools/frameworks and recommend appropriate solutions
• Experience with Continuous Integration tools and best practices
• Experience with Maven and Ant. 
• Wealth or Financial Industry experience. 

The candidate's responsibilities will include:

• Co-ordination and leadership, systems analysis, design, development, testing, and documentation
• As a Senior Developer the candidate will have technical leadership responsibilities, technical design, and implementation management experience 
• Good verbal and written communication skills 
• Excellent analytical / documentation skills 
• Ability to work on multiple concurrent projects 
• Ability to work in a ongoing changing environment 
• Ability to work both in teams and individually 
• Knowledge and experience on Wealth Management projects would be an asset 
• Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills 
• A driven desire to succeed 
• Expert knowledge of the SDLC processes 
• Proven ability to handle multiple concurrent projects 
• Proven technical leadership of development teams 
• Knowledge and experience on Wealth Management systems and projects would be an asset 

Education and Accreditation 

• University / College degree in computer science
