Job Description

Our client has a requirement for an Infrastructure Support Analyst for a 6 month contract opportunity.  The position is located in Calgary.

Role

Role will require responding to server, SAN, midrange network related incident tickets, perform server install, upgrade and decommissioning.  Perform changes according to change management practices.  Liaise with peers and clients in project work. 

• Provide Area Operations and facilities support nationally. 
• Provide Level 1 support for Global/Regional Network Operations team
• Provide Intel Server, SAN, and Midrange support  (operating system, utilities and hardware) as a member of a distributed national support team with primary coverage for Canada Area.
• Work with various site contacts/business as focal point contact
• Remote site stewardship – manage IT activities at remote field sites
• Support business in an Enterprise environment, with distributed locations, dealing with items remotely.
• Work independently and coordinate with multiple local and global groups to complete assignments and projects.
• On call a possibility
• Create and review documentation / process as required

Requirements or Qualifications

Key technical skills

Primary Skill Set:

• Server operations experience in distributed LAN environment
• Microsoft Operating system (i.e. Server 20xx)
• Network infrastructure experience Cisco / Juniper router and switches experience
• Remote support
• Familiarity with Dell server hardware / troubleshooting skills / hardware monitoring tools
• Analyse and interpret technical data for problem determination and resolution
• BMC ITSM / Remedy problem management system

Secondary Skill Set:

• MS Windows XP / Windows 7
• Microsoft Suite (i.e. Office 2010)
• SharePoint 2010
• Unix / Linux experience

Nice to Have:

• Project management
