Our client has a requirement for a Solutions Developer for a 6 months contract opportunity. The position is located in Toronto, ON.

Role

Our Financial Services client is looking for a Solutions Developer position responsible for migration portfolio trading strategies implemented in Flex Trade trading platform to Apama Complex Event Processing Engine as well as implementation of new strategies on the Apama Complex Event Processing Engine.

Responsibilities

• The role is responsible for writing Apama Monitor script based trading strategies to migrate existing strategies implemented in Flex Trade platform to Apama CEP as well as implementing new trading strategies in Apama CEP.
• The role will be implementing all strategies almost exclusively in Apama Monitor script.
• The role must conduct system research, analysis, and design and problem resolution with close coordination with the business unit.
• Develop, implement, maintain and improve solutions/processes that maximize system availability, efficiency/ effectiveness and minimize/prevent problems/ issues.
• Adhere to existing processes/standards, technology architecture, risk and production capacity guidelines and objectives; plan, monitor, test and escalate issues as required.
• Work with the architecture group to ensure good architectural design and raise issues as they develop through the project lifecycle in a timely manner.
• Comply with the system development life cycle (SDLC) and project management methodology (PMLC) by participating in scope assessment, risk and cost analysis.
• Deliver effective and efficient solutions by meeting key project milestones and overall project deliverables on time, within budget, and adhering to development and quality standards.
• Conduct pre and post implementation activities ensuring project deliverables are met and communicated to Project Management.

Requirements or Qualifications

• Experience with developing trading strategies
• SDLC / PMLC
• Capital Market - equities and derivatives experience
• Bachelors Degree or higher in Computer Science or Mathematics.
• Knowledge of C#, C#, Java or other type-safe languages a plus.
