Job Description

Our client has a requirement for Bilingual System Developer, Support for a 6 months contract opportunity. The position is located in Montreal.

Summary
Under the supervision of the Team Leader, the successful candidate will act as a Programmer Analyst for the application support team.
Supported applications have been developed on a variety of architectures ranging from client-server to web applications, all on a variety of technologies. The candidate should be familiar first with the technical skills described below and must also be open to the idea of ​​learning other technologies.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all stages of support, from the analysis of the situation causing a problem to the implementation of the solution.
•  Implement changes and update technical or legal order for the IT Park supported by the team.
• Support applications outside of the normal office hours, which could involve carrying a pager.
• Work with other team members to become familiar with the applications, understand the problems they may face and resolve.

Requirements

• University degree in Computer Science and a minimum of 2 years experience in a relevant IT environment, or college diploma in Computer Science and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience degree.
• Knowledge of PL / SQL, Oracle, SQL and IBM DB2
• Knowledge of Linux, Unix and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Knowledge of DJ, 4 Microfocus Cobol, Java, Oracle forms, Oracle reports, Crystal Reports, Java and ETL is an asset.
• Knowledge of the insurance industry or the financial services industry is an asset.
• Knowledge of the development cycle of an application.
• Basic knowledge of different technological environments.
• Have the initiative and sense of urgency, be able to work under pressure and time constraints
• Bilingual, French and English, spoken and written.
