Unix/AIX Administrator

Job Description

Our client has requirement for Unix/Aix administrator for a 3 month contract. The position is located in Waterloo.

Reporting to and receiving day-to-day supervision from the Service Manager Enterprise Server and Storage Management, this position is responsible for delivering enterprise based AIX solutions to support ongoing operations.


Specific Responsibilities:

Participate in the upgrade of AIX v5.3 to AIX v7.1
Participate in the roll-out of Active Directory in the AIX environment Coach and mentor junior members to increase their AIX skills and knowledge and get them active in the AIX upgrade project and Active Directory roll-out
Create technical documentation, standard operating procedures etc.

Qualifications required:

Unix administration experience involving the AIX operating system
Available to work after business hours during the week and on Weekends

Preference will be given to candidates with prior work experience in the following areas:

AIX version 5.3 and higher
Server virtualization
Active Directory
