Position Summary:

Reporting to the Manager, Strategic Sourcing, the Strategic Sourcing Specialist position is responsible for engaging the Enterprise for all project related technology and services acquisitions and managing these project related vendor relationships. The Strategic Sourcing Specialist will work with the Enterprise to understand the projects requirements and lead the sourcing methodology, including determination of the evaluation and negotiation strategies for assigned projects. The successful candidate will follow established process and assist with the development of continuous improvement initiatives.


Reporting to the Manager, Strategic Sourcing, The Strategic Sourcing Specialist will be responsible for the following:

Accountabilities:

•Work closely with project managers, project teams, business consultants, enterprise architects and the enterprise IT vendor management team to ensure that all IT project needs are understood and being met
•Add and demonstrate the value of Vendor Management services for each project, working with the objective of increasing the use vendor management services to the SBU’s
•Ensure that the Vendor Management Lifecycle is being followed and best practices are introduced throughout the project lifecycle.
•Lead the preparation of Requests for Proposals (RFP’s), with the analysis and summation of vendor responses, and negotiation planning.
•Support, coordinate and perform contract negotiations, working with Manager and Risk and Governance personnel to ensure the contractual risk to the Enterprise is minimized through effective contract terms and conditions.
•Work with the Operational management teams to ensure contract terms, SLA’s and escalations are understood during the implementation stage.
•Review and revise key policies on an annual basis with stakeholders based on vendor and stakeholder feedback and changing business needs
•Facilitate information flow between our client’s business units and vendors
•Monitor vendor performance and work with Vendor Performance Manager to ensure that all information is captured and reported on
•Identify and execute opportunities for procurement cost reduction
•Create, analyze, group and interpret technology-related data. Provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required. Use industry research services to identify trends and techniques.
•Use standard technology contracts; liaise with internal and external legal counsel to finalize contracts. Negotiate terms and conditions.


Qualified Candidates will have:

•University degree, technological diploma or equivalent work experience.
•3 years experience in Information Technology.
•Working knowledge of large-scale data processing hardware and software environments.
•Excellent interpersonal skills.
•Strong analytical skills.
•Working knowledge, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
•Strong leadership skills and presence, remarkable sense of accountability and a demonstrated ability in constructing a highly credible roadmap
•Pro-active and assertive; self-starter; able to take initiative as required.
•Ability to develop and maintain relationships with all levels of line management.
•Strong negotiating skills.
•Excellent PC, written, verbal and presentation communication skills.
•Integrity and trust.
•Awareness and understanding of relevant industry trends.
•Ability to be objective with no department or vendor bias.
•Ability to develop credibility with peers, customers, vendors and senior management.
