Job Description

Scope of Services and Deliverables - The services and deliverables to be provided will include the following:


Deliverables

•Matrix reporting to the Project Managers for MIS projects, this opportunity requires supervising Business Systems MIS trainers/instructors within the overall policies and procedures of the unit.
•Works collaboratively in a team structure, with Subject Matter Experts, and other development staff, while demonstrating capability to work independently in carrying out areas of responsibility.
•May provide guidance and supervision to assistant Program Leaders across the CCIM program.
•The Leader is responsible for the overall planning, development, and administration of one or more training teams and related educational offerings.
•The Leader works collaboratively within the Technology, Project Management and Leadership teams to promote excellence in the delivery of courses and quality of instruction in the areas of Ontario Healthcare Reporting Standards, Management Information Systems for financial and statistical software application (Microsoft Dynamics GP) within the Healthcare Sector.
•As the Leader he/she will employ adult learning principles and instructional design theories in designing, developing and executing innovative instructional design solutions, including but not limited to instructor-led and e-learning solutions.
•Drive an outcome based approach to learning activities; looking for methods to measure training success based on desired workplace behaviour and performance improvement.
•Work independently with minimum direction; taking projects successfully from concept to implementation.
•Assist in identification/assessment of business training needs.
•Develop and maintain effective training material to improve compliance & performance.
•Utilizes multiple delivery methods to achieve effective & innovative instructional offerings
•Lead / conduct engaging classroom, e-learning and other identified methods for training and maintains a high level of expertise in current training techniques.
•Plans the schedule of course offerings and ensures technical requirements for courses are communicated to technical support.
•The Leader strives to develop quality “leading edge” educational offerings, course materials and other required support materials during course development.
•At times the Leader may design and develop support materials for other educational initiatives outside MIS course development.
•Hires and evaluates instructors/trainers performance by setting and reviewing course objectives.
•Works within a team to establish optimal allocation of resources for course delivery & support.
•Assumes responsibility for program budgets & monitors budgets-to-actual for reporting purposes.
•Oversees educational session schedules, participant records, requisitions and payments.
•Develops and reaches yearly financial goals.
•Ensures that processes and procedures are in place for appropriate project management record keeping.
•Assumes ultimate responsibility for accuracy of educational documentation and session records.
•Performs other duties related to the qualifications and requirements of the job as specified by the Senior Project Management.


Qualifications

•2 + years of Project leadership with demonstrated supervisory experience in one or more of the following areas:

◦Multi-organization projects with multiple stakeholders.
◦Establishment and/or management of information resource management functions in large or medium organizations.
◦Demonstrated effective project management; proven ability to meet project timelines with strong organizational skills
◦Managing the implementation activities associated with large projects within the healthcare industry.
◦Experience in projects aimed at training and implementing Ontario Healthcare Reporting Standards and/or MIS compliant standards
◦Demonstrated success in leading teams in healthcare projects.
◦Highly knowledgeable about the practice of adult education, continuing education in general and especially administrative processes and strategies.
◦Demonstrated knowledge of effective instructional design and teaching techniques.
◦Working knowledge of both traditional and online models of educational delivery required.
◦Experience in developing and delivering financial software training material.
◦Experience in using different online methodologies to develop and deliver training material
•Ability to exhibit tact and diplomacy.
•BA/BS required. Instructional Design, Training and Development, Education, Adult Education or related field recommended.
•Master’s Degree preferred University degree in a relevant field.
•Minimum 5+ years experience in implementing training methodologies, developing adult training material and delivery.
•Experience in the use of project management software and developing project management plans.
•Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills; verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal and negotiation skills.
•A team player with a track record for meeting deadlines.
•An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.


Other

•Frequent travel within the Province required
•Ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
•Bilingual( English/French) skills an asset
