Systems Integration Specialist

Job Description

Our client has requirement for multiple Systems Integrators for permanent fulltime role. The positions are located in London, Ontario


JOB OVERVIEW:

The Systems Integration team is responsible for integrating our client and server components into a state-of-the-art network and digital cable environment.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Integrate our software with complex 3rd party vendor solutions (VOD, PVR, IPTV)

•Actively work with our development and support teams to troubleshoot software issues
•Create and execute integration test cases to validate system requirements
•Carry out client/server performance analysis and capacity planning
•Determine optimal software/hardware configurations for product releases
•Perform end-to-end network traffic and bandwidth analysis
•Create detailed installation and configuration documentation for our software
•Assess hardware and operating system requirements
•Function as part of a highly collaborative cross-site international team


EDUCATION & SKILLS REQUIRED:

•B.Sc. degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience
•Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies in challenging and fast-paced work environment
•Practical experience with Solaris or Red Hat Linux
•Extensive knowledge of TCP/IP networking, configuration, and monitoring
•Extensive knowledge of TCP/IP protocols (DNS, DHCP, SMTP, SNMP, HTTP, FTP)
•Practical experience with JAVA/C++
•Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
•Exceptional written and oral communications skills
•Ability to manage day to day tasks and thrive in a collaborative environment with minimal supervision
•Digital cable television experience (Tru2way, IPTV, DOCSIS) would be an asset
•Database (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL) experience would be an asset
•UNIX system administration experience would be an asset
