Job Description

Our Federal Government client is in need of Senior Project Manager (Level 3) to be responsible for the project planning, execution and delivery of an IT Modernization Project. The initial contract is for a year (200 days) plus an additional year option period and is located in Ottawa.

Qualified Candidates MUST have

• A valid Security Clearance at the Enhanced Reliability level or higher.
• MUST be Bilingual (Oral and Comprehension Advanced, Written Intermediate)
• Over 10 years as a Project Manager in an IT environment
• 5+ years as a Project Manager holding a valid Prince 2 or PMP professional certification (proof is required)
• A minimum of 5 years (preferably 10 years) recent experience working as a project manager in a Federal Government or crown corporation environment
• 2+ years project management for implementation of IFMS/IFMS components (ERP SAP 6.0)
• 3+ years Experience successfully guiding projects/programs through the Government of Canada TF submission process through to effective project approval
• 3+ years Experience with Earned Value Management
• Experience in the following areas:
• Managing complex, multifaceted/interrelated projects that have interdependencies which span beyond the boundaries for the Ministry
• Developing a complex project plan (e.g. with interdependencies or whole of government implication) and managing the project plan, including timelines, deliverables, milestones and costs
• Conducting comprehensive risk assessments and developing concrete Risk Mitigation plans for eliminating or mitigating the risks identified
• Project managing from project initiation of Project closure (including implementation), for solution
• Experience managing projects and their project deliverables using an enterprise electronic Project and/or Portfolio Management System (e.g. Clarity, Primavera, Oracle, Microsoft Enterprise Server or Project Server).
• Experience producing Project Charters, Project Schedules, Project Budgets, and Project Work Breakdown Schedules (WBS)
• experience producing detailed Project Plans as de- fined by PMBOK
• experience developing comprehensive Risk Assessments and creating Risk Response Plans for eliminating or mitigating the risks identified in the Risk Assessments
• experience publishing project deliverables collaboration mechanisms like Wikis or Shared Drives or Collaboration Software
• experience working in an organization using Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) or has a MSP Foundation Certification
• 2+ years of experience in the provision of Project Management services in IT projects involving Workflow Solutions.
• 2+ years of experience in the provision of Project Management services in IT projects involving Document Management Solutions
