Our client has a requirement for a Sr. Project Manager for a 6 month contract opportunity. The positions are located in Scarborough.

 Requirements or Qualifications

• We are currently seeking a seasoned business and technology professional with a strong focus on business outcomes that can manage large projects in IT Service Management domain.
• The incumbent must have extensive background with ITSM implementations at an enterprise level, strong SDLC & PMLC background.
• The incumbent will be responsible for managing 2 or 3 projects simultaneously that will include update and integration of existing monitoring tools, performance testing and organizational change communication activities that support Enterprise ITSM processes.
• The incumbent will also manage internal and external vendor activities. In addition, contribute to enhancement of the PMO to drive it up the maturity curve.
• The incumbent will need to work through ambiguity and must be able to work with little or no supervision.
• The role would be suited for Senior Project Managers with experience in managing large and complex ITIL/ITSM projects, with superior communication skills, ability to impact and influence stakeholders, solid negotiation and strong leadership experience.

Required skills

• Must have a balance of business and technical background and be able to understand system, Network and application components at a conceptual level
• Have an understanding of Java application development
• Have experience with implementing Operational management and monitoring tools
• Experience with application monitoring would be preferred and a strong asset to this role
• Very good understanding of production support models
• Full life cycle project management experience
• Experience with proven project methodology tools
• Ability to work independently and under pressure
• Strong influencing skills that bring teams together to build consensus
• Be able to work in an environment that has many competing priorities
• Strong time management and communications skills that leverage all communication options
• Strong vendor management
• Ability to build and maintain project plans and task list and baseline for milestone dates
• Very good understanding of ITSM tools and process implementation
• Experience with building business cases and create presentations for executive stakeholders
• Strong project reporting skills to understand when to create a PCR or change the status of a project
• Does not take no for an answer, always looking to find a better way and faster way to do something while working in the bounds of process, but not afraid to push against it
• Proficient in cost management (estimating, tracking, forecasting)

 

Must Have

• IT Service Management
• Vendor Management
• PMP, ITIL certification or experience in ITIL
• Expertise in MS Project, Excel, Visio and Powerpoint
• Budgeting and estimating experience
• Infrastructure experience
• SDLC and PMLC
• Working in a highly matrix environment

 

Nice to have

• Financial Services background
