Job Description

Our client has a requirement for a Senior Project manager for a contract opportunity. The position is located in Ottawa.

Requirements or Qualifications

Must have:

• A minimum of ten (10) years of recent (within the last fifteen (15) years) experience managing projects in an IT environment.  
• Possess a minimum of five (5) years of recent (within the last eightt (8) years)  experience managing successful projects in an IT environment with a recognized professional certification (e.g. Prince 2, PMP). The project management professional certification/accreditation MUST currently be in good standing.
• A minimum of five (5) years of recent (within the last ten (10) years) experience in the provision of Project Management services in an IT environment to a federal government department, federal agency or federal crown corporation, with at least two (2) of those years of experience focused on the provision of IT Project Management services in successfully implementing GCDOCS and/or RDIMS and/or EDRMS.

               

Nice to have –Rated Crtteria

• Experience in the provision of project management services to a federal government department, federal agency or federal crown corporation.
• Experience successfully guiding projects and/or programs through the Government of Canada Treasury Board (TB) submission process through to Effective Project Approval (i.e. the resource has experience writing the PPA and EPA documents for Treasury Board ministers and securing a decision letter / approval which means TB Cabinet Ministers agree that a program requirement has been identified and there is adequate justification for meeting that requirement through a particular project).
  • Experience with Earned Value Management.
  • Experience managing projects and their project deliverables using an enterprise electronic Project and/or Portfolio Management System (e.g. Clarity, Primavera, Oracle, Microsoft Enterprise Server or Project Server).
  • Experience initiating projects through the elaboration/drafting of all of the following types of artefacts within the past ten (10) years:
    • Project Charters;
    • Project Schedules;
    • Project Budgets;
    • Project Work Breakdown Schedules (WBS); and
    • Detailed Project Plans

• Bilingual – English and French is an asset
