About the Job

Our client has a requirement for a Business Systems Analyst for a 6 Month Contract opportunity. The position is located in Toronto.

Role

The ERM Technology Support Team requires an IT Business Analyst to provide data analysis, requirements analysis and investigations, troubleshoot issues and recommend solutions on multiple Risk Management initiatives (data aggregation and reporting). The candidate will interact with business SMEs, consultants, business analysts and developers. This individual would need to have advanced knowledge of data analysis and data validation using relational databases (MS SQL Server or Oracle).

Responsibilities

• Work with business stakeholders to assess current system capabilities, identify and define detailed product requirements and use cases, and translate business requirements into Technical System Requirements Specification (SRS) documents.
• Work closely with the Solution Developers and IT Specialists (Solution Designers, QA Test Specialist, Infrastructure Support)
• Support testing teams in translating requirements and use cases into test conditions and expected results for product, performance, user acceptance, and operational acceptance testing; participate in the testing of developed systems/solutions
• Adhere to existing processes/standards including the system development life cycle (SDLC) and project management methodology (PMLC), business technology architecture, risk and production capacity guidelines
• Contribute to the development of project plans by participating in the scoping and estimating of proposed projects
• Communicate project status and provide timely escalation of issues to the Technology Project Manager (Application Manager, Demand Manager, Portfolio Manager) and ensure timely notification and escalation of possible issues/problems, options and recommendations for prompt resolution
• Act as a technical resource for business partners to ensure deliverables meet business and end-user requirements

 

Requirements or Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of data analysis and data validation using relational databases (MS SQL Server or Oracle)
• At least 5 years of experience in SQL Query - ability to read, write, and execute queries; test and analyze and validate data
• Experience in Excel, MS SQL Server, stored procedures (ability to know and read stored procedures)
• At least 5 years of strong documentation skills; solid communication (verbal and written) skills
• At least 5 years of SDLC experience.
• Financial Industry experience is an asset
• Visio

 
Education

• University or College Degree in Information Technology or Software Engineering
