Role

The Business Technology Service (BTS) Division of our client is seeking a Solution Designer/Developer to help lead the Design/Architecture/Development activities for eServices Portal project. This role will be provide solution design services include understanding and translating client business requirements into functional and technical documentation, identifying alternative solution design options and recommending solutions; ensuring that the solution(s) satisfy all business requirements.

Requirements

• Oracle Webcentre/WebPortal 11g experience in architecture, systems design and analysis of Enterprise level software.
• 5+ Hands on experience with development of Java/J2EE Applications on Oracle Technology Stack (Webcenter 11 g, Weblogic server), Portal Applications, Portlets, Single Sign On and domain to domain authentication.
• 5+ J2EE, ADF, Faces, / Portlets, Web Services, XML, JDeveloper, LDAP and Databases
• Experience in integration of complex applications, proof of concepts, architecture of multiple and distinct IT applications
• One or more Oracle professional certifications.
• Experience being in lead roles to provide guidance to developers and do troubleshooting of technical problems

 

 Nice to Have

• Experience with Insurance Industry applications such as Guidewire
• Experience with development technologies such as Alphinat
• Agile/Kanban project delivery methodology experience, including leading Standup/SCRUM sessions with project teams
• Previous experience in responsive design/applications for mobile platforms.

Responsibilities

• Provide business solution advice and artifacts to Project Managers, Business Analysts and Business clients on solutions options and directions by:
• Providing high level recommendations on solution feasibility and/or options for high value/mission critical investments, including both high level conceptual options and high level business solutions;
• Identifying and presenting value-added assessments, such as opportunities for automation to project teams and business areas;
• Developing system/software architecture documents, system logic models, providing high-level estimates at project inception and detailed estimates on project costs after detailed requirements are captured;
• Conduct Proof of concepts to solidify the solution, propose alternatives and help developers with technical issues.
• Cooperating with project managers and business analysts in preparing high level resource requirements and timelines estimates, identifying functional work areas and continually helping to remove technical hurdles;
• Identifying training and educational requirements for various stakeholders and project teams.
• Provide business solution expertise and group leadership in the development of solution architecture, concepts, proposals, new and existing applications for the IT delivery team, by:
• Providing guidance/advice in the “buy vs. build” decision and the selection/utilization of new software/hardware;
• Ensuring solution designs are compliant with target architectures, ensuring logical design of client applications; and monitoring and measuring the success of the estimation process.
• Coach and mentor IT project team members as required.
• Ensure quality of work is achieved within the projects through ongoing review and evaluation of project deliverables and ensuring traceability. Developing / updating build books and configuration guides
