About the Job

Our client has a requirement for an  for a Senior Development System Support Analyst for Unix for a 6 Month Contract opportunity.  The position is located in Toronto, ON.

Role and Responsbilities

The Senior Development Systems Support Analyst is accountable for the overall security posture of the infrastructure and the systems being supported. The Senior Development Systems Support Analyst is also accountable for customer support and assumes the lead role during the completion of development projects, which involves the implementation and support of development and Quality Assurance (QA) environments as required. This includes the effective operation of system components, network infrastructure, and resources within the environments. Maintains expert knowledge and understanding of a range of products and processes within the supported environments with focus on the operating system, applications, and key components (e.g., servers, protocols, network infrastructures, etc.) in order to provide systems consulting service to the project team Coaches less senior staff in the performance of technical procedures and duties in order to foster professional development

Skills and Qualifications      
  • Possesses a university degree/college diploma and/or 5 to 7 years experience in Banking applications or technical support environment
  • Solid experience with administration and support of products and platforms UNIX (Red Hat Linux, Solaris 10)
  • Administration experience middleware (WebSphere, MQ, Citrix, Autosys)
  • Demonstrates good working knowledge of system security, networking infrastructure, and host connectivity
  • Possesses good working knowledge of desktop/server hardware and software
  • Is able to understand the complexity of development/QA environments and cross-impact potential on other technology areas
  • Working knowledge of application software (e.g., Citrix, AutoSYS, WebSphere, MQSeries, Crystal Enterprise, etc.)
  • Demonstrates solid communication and interpersonal skills -Exhibits solid problem solving and analytical skills -Possesses solid customer service skills -Displays high attention to problem description, detail, and impact -Is self motivated, goal oriented and customer service oriented
