Job Description

One of our financial services hiring managers is looking for PROJECT MANAGER to join his team in Toronto for a 6month contract opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Executing project management deliverables within budget and as per the approved project plan 
  • Ability to balance the needs of multiple stakeholders and is able to effectively resolve conflicts 
  •  Prioritizing and managing own workload and the workload of project team members in order to deliver quality results and meet timelines 
  • Overseeing the overall design and development of IT enterprise development programs / curriculum and on-going content management for all areas across Wealth 
  •  Working with business and technology teams to gain a good understanding of business and IT requirements, strategies and learning needs, and enabling the “comprehensive development” approach via development / delivery and management of a wide of development solutions 
  • Conducting formal research and/or needs assessment by identifying broad business and IT requirements, scoping out key design/development solutions, establishing measurement targets and end deliverables and resources necessary for implementation 
  •  Collaborating and working closely with the Leadership team and internal stakeholders to ensure efficient allocation and integration of resources and that overall design and development activities and are managed in a cost-effective and efficient way, aligned with overall business and IT needs 
  • Maintaining expert knowledge of best practices in project management discipline solutions and keeps current with innovative and leading-edge technologies trends / developments 
  • Defining and implementing effective internal processes to standards
  •  Keeping others informed of all relevant information and shares expertise 
  • Leading a team of professionals, providing guidance and overseeing the continuous development, of the team 
  •  Creating a highly active project execution culture based on a high sense of urgency, being accountable for outcomes and delivering with excellence 
  •  Building relationships with strong influencing skills to pull people together and integrate disparate groups toward a common vision.

Qualifications

  • Someone who has worked on IT Projects ranging from $3M to $6M budget 
  •  Ability to balance the needs of multiple stakeholders and is able to effectively resolve conflicts 
  • Experience overseeing Operational Readiness and Technology Streams 
  • PMLC and SDLC methodologies 
  •  Have worked with large organizations or large areas (i.e., all areas across Wealth)
  • Results and service oriented- capable of interacting at all levels 
  • Proven track record of successfully researching and implementing strategies, programs and initiatives and the ability to work collaboratively to achieve goals 

 Nice to Have

  • Worked within Wealth (preferably Direct Investing, Financial Planning or Mutual Funds Departments) 
  •  PMP 
  • Financial / Banking experience
