Job Description

Our client has a requirement for a Systems Tester/QA – Level 3 for a 4 month contract opportunity.  The position is located in Toronto.

Role

The QA/UAT tester will be responsible and accountable for the complete testing of all Microsoft System Installer (MSI) packages and the reporting of status of each. The overall project tasks/activities may include but not limited to the following:

• Review, analyze and modify product installation scripts including encoding, testing, debugging and ensuring application certification services follow standard process and procedures for the installation of applications on desktops
• Prepare scripts and MSI packages for an automated update toolset “Radia”
• Review and understand source files, readme files to understand application scripting requirements outside of the packaging scope
• Launch application and test to ensure successful operation
• Perform automated install to ensure compliance with requirements and Client best practices
• Uninstall application ensuring complete removal of all components from the system
• Perform quality insurance activities ensuring scripts operating as expected
• Set up a UAT session for clients to test packaged desktop applications
• Create uninstall scripts for Multi environments Windows 2000, and XP
• Working with packagers to resolve install, and uninstall issues
• Provide timely feedback to team members on matters that could delay the project implementation schedule
• Act as subject matter expert for the Radia publishing, QA/UAT test procedures under the standard desktop application certification service

Requirements or Qualifications

The Consultant must be able to demonstrate knowledge of, and experience in, the following skills, activities, or areas. The knowledge and experience must have been gained through work on a project(s) similar in size and scope to this project. The following skills are required:

• Knowledge and understand of Operating System Windows XP and Windows 7.
• Expert knowledge of RADIA Publishing
• Knowledge of QA/UAT testing techniques
• Understanding of the registry
• Knowledge of using VMware, Desktop and know how to create a VMware session.
• Knowledge of AD and Group Policies.
• 4 Years of experience working specifically in a Radia deployment environment.
• Knowledge and understanding of HP’s Radia tool
• Knowledge of Networks, IP addressing
• Knowledge of how to re-image a PC
• The Consultant must be available to start work in accordance with the specified time frame and have the skills to produce the services requested as detailed within this document
• The Consultant must be able to demonstrate the ability to deal tactfully with people and have excellent interpersonal communication and writing skills.
