Our client has a requirement for Senior WebFocus BI Developers for a 12 months contract opportunity. The position is located in Montreal.

Summary

To provide business intelligence knowledge and support linked to advertisers and consumers analytics. The BI sr. developer is expected to help designing and delivering a brand new UI for the new Analytics web and mobile platforms which is used by customers.

Responsibilities

• Take part in business intelligence projects. Responsibilities include acting as subject matter expert to assist in delivering business intelligence solutions that will help decision-makers to reach the best solution.
• Become familiar with the company's IS/IT in order to maximise effectiveness.
• Develop BI clients and reports to be visualized on multiple platforms (Ipad, web, mobile devices, etc.) connected and disconnected.
• Use the Information Builders suite of products to capture what-if scenarios, persisting data, calling or offering data services/applications services and creating OLAP and non-OLAP based reports.
• Be able to extract, analyze and interpret system's data in order to respond to various queries.
• Responsible for the implementation of the Information Builders capabilities (mainly software).
• Become familiar with various data sources and their applications in order to define the data needs and brainstorm technical solutions with the rest of the IT team.
• Reverse engineer code to specification (we are insourcing the platform)
• Participate in QA for the technical flows and the data validation.
• Provide estimates and statuses in a timely manner.
• Might be asked to help in the ETL field using SSIS, Datastage or Java
• Might be helped to help on Analytics platforms issues (data issues, problems, etc.)

Desired Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in business intelligence, Management Information Systems or equivalent.
• 5 to 8 years of related experience in data analysis, decision-making support and business intelligence.
• Strong experience with Webfocus.
• Familiar with mobile application interfaces.
• Highly familiar with database tools such as TOAD.
• Experience with SQLServer and MySQL.
• Experience in Java, .net, C# (an asset).
• Knowledge of HTML5 (an asset).
• Experience in XML, XSD (an asset).
• Experience of Hadoop (an asset).
• Knowledge of Infobright database (an asset).
• Knowledge of Tibco SpotFire (an asset).
• Experience in cube development with Microsoft SSAS and SSIS (an asset).
