About the Job

Our client has a requirement for an  for a Intermediate Technical Specialist for a 6 Month Contract opportunity.  The position is located in Toronto, ON.

Role

The Technical Specialist (TS) defines and evaluates all technical aspects of the systems, processes, controls, and volumes in order to optimize IT performance and costs. To do this, the TS acts as the focal point to assess, evaluate, maintain and report on the EPS portfolio & resource.  Provide technology standards consulting, costing and project planning in order to deliver technology solutions for our client.  The TS maintains regular communications with various senior management, the Lines of Business, and business partners, in order to stay abreast of emerging business requirements and provide consultation on related matters.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for intake of work in partnership with two core groups of customer
  • Provides an integrated view of  the EPS portfolio & resource management
  • Responsible for working with EPS COEs to provide demand forecast (annual and monthly) and plan vs actual variances
  • Sets standards and conducts resource analysis for customer and/or internal initiatives in support of the EI portfolio & resource management process
  • Reviews and recommends improvements to processes and procedures, analysis, documentation maintenance in support of resource management and project
  • Plans resource levels and assignments
  • Tracks and reports on business case realization for both EI & LOB projects
  • Ensures that EPS maintains a balanced portfolio that delivers maximum value to the business
  • Solicits business input into portfolio management process
  • Determines projected and realized value from projects
  • Manages and approves project requests for business initiatives based on business priorities
  • Solicits demand plans from the business
  • Documents necessary information and activities to facilitate knowledge transfer
  • Motivates team members, establish priorities, and set project direction incorporating advanced project management disciplines in the assessment, initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and completion phases of assigned projects
  • Contributes to clients' overall business results by making recommendations that significantly improve operational efficiency and effectiveness
  • Ensures Regulatory, Audit and Information Security policies and requirements and best practices are adhered to
  • Demonstrates Our Way values at all times

 Qualifications

  • Possesses a university degree/college diploma and/or industry specific designations/accreditations and/or  5 to 7 years of technical experience IT environment
  • Possesses advanced experience in Technical currency in related protocols, security, supplier services
  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge of IT industry directions and trends
  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge of the relevant technology infrastructure (supported platforms, operating systems, middleware and network components)
  • Illustrates advanced experience regarding fiscal and budgetary management
  • Illustrates advanced knowledge of Bank’s organization, policies, procedures and methodologies and broad knowledge of the Bank’s business lines
  • Exhibits advanced knowledge of EI organization, processing strategies and service level agreements
  • advanced communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Possesses advanced analytical skills
  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge of industry best practices
  • Displays advanced facilitation and presentation skills
