SharePoint/IIS Engineer

About the Job

Our client has a requirement for a SharePoint/IIS Engineer, for a 6 month contract opportunity. The position is located in Toronto.

The Collaboration Engineering team is responsible for Sharepoint, IIS and .NET technology platforms and we require an Engineer to provide Engineering and 3rd level support for these technologies.


In this role the candidate will work with other support areas, Business Technical Support teams, and external vendors. Responsibilities will include:

•Fulfill the technical role as a SharePoint /IIS /.NET Engineer defining and delivering quality solutions
•Interact with internal teams and vendors on projects to deliver cost effective and quality solutions
•Liaison with Windows Engineering as well as the developers and Application response team is required
•Act as technical resource for clients to ensure deliverables meet business requirements
•Test and certify software, service packs and maintenance releases
•Perform functional upgrades, including software revisions and major service pack releases
•Test, certify and document upgrade procedures for Operations teams
•Create handover release, and how-to documentation
•Create project proposals and approach papers, including estimated hardware, software and resourcing costs.
•Provide knowledge with Quest Administrator and Recovery Manager tools
•Provide 3rd level escalation support
•Deploy SharePoint, IIS and .NET for new environments
•Work on SharePoint site provisioning and migrations
•Work on IIS site and encryption configuration, certificate provisioning and renewals
•Maintain and improve health and well-being of the services
•After hours and weekend work will be required


Requirement or Qualifications:

Qualified Candidates will have:

The ideal candidate must be able to fill the role of a SharePoint / IIS Engineer. The candidate must have:

•7+ years of demonstrated experience working with SharePoint 2003 / 2007, IIS and .NET
•An excellent understanding of Windows 2003 / 2008 OS, and OS system management
•A high knowledge of data flow within a large topology.


The successful candidate must also:

•be a self-motivated team player with excellent interpersonal skills
•possess sound project management disciplines with the ability to run with multiple small to medium projects
•have proven client focus product support experience
•should have knowledge and experience with change and problem management process
•Strong written and verbal communication skills are required to liaise with clients/vendors
