Job Description

This contract position is required to backfill a Extensity (Expense System) operational support role in the Financial Accounting area.


Technical Skills / Business Knowledge needed:

Development Technologies: Java, .Net, Oracle PL/SQL, Stored procedures
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and MS Scripting

Operating System / Server environments: Unix (Sun Solaris), Windows/Intel servers, with a basic understanding of virtualized servers / zones.

Database Environments: Oracle 9i, Oracle 10g, with lots of experience in PL/SQL & stored procedures. SQLServer 2005

Experience working with vendor packaged business solutions; specific experience in INFOR's Extensity application - would be an asset

Business knowledge and experience in accounting, accounts payable would be an asset


Other:

The following skills in expert level are also required:
§ excellent customer service skills
§ take a logical and systematic approach to problem solving technical incidents
§ are passionate about providing quality and excellent customer service
§ quickly understand a variety of business functions and related business & technology issues in a complex technical environment
§ know about and want to learn more about the technology, the business, and how the systems support the business processes.
§ Familiar with Incident Management and Change Management process methodologies: Remedy, ITSM. ITIL
§ Experience working with Business Object and Citrix would be an asset


Performance Expectations:

This is an application and business process support role.

The candidate would be responding to and resolving operational issues with the Extensity application for the duration of the contract. Another experienced support person will be available to provide application training and backup help as required. Successful candidate will be part of a support group of 4 that supply service delivery and support for several other accounting systems namely general ledger (CODA) and consolidation (Khalix) which is part of a larger team supporting the Accounting business area.

The successful candidate must have a strong desire to be in an application support role focussed on customer service; other Accounting and Financial application experience would be an asset.
