Job Description:

Our client has a requirement for Systems Integration for a 6 month contract opportunity. The positions are located in Toronto.


Requirement or Qualifications:


Qualified Candidates will have:

Niche Position: Systems Integration

Please submit candidates who are familiar in working in an Unix environment, and have with experience in Unix shell scripting and familiar with Perl, and understands version control, and distributed computing (working with schedulers, controllers) and experience with working with Oracle/Sybase/mySQL databases.
This candidate will batch Unix scripting and use look-up/queries using SQL databases and also monitor the system to ensure batches are completed on a daily basis.

The hiring manager is open to taking someone with less experience but the candidate needs to good with trouble shooting and can multi-taks along with a background with shell and perl.

Interviews will take place as soon as qualified candidates have been shortlisted.

The candidate will be working within a group that is responsible for the development and support of in-house Market and Credit Risk systems within TD Securities. This individual will be responsible for:

- designing, developing, testing, debugging, and maintaining scripts and processes to help automate tasks and integrate diverse systems, using full software development life cycle processes.
- wrapping, packaging, deployment and support of builds as code is promoted through development, user acceptance testing, and production environments.
- participating in the implementation and maintenance of source control and release procedures
- providing support to business and testing teams


Skills/Experience required:

• Expertise with Unix shell (BASH, SH, KSH shell)
• Expertise with Perl
• Understands parallel computing and distributed platforms (Sun Grid Engine preferred).
• Experience working with Oracle, Sybase and/or mySQL databases.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Be organized, self-motivating, and a team player and able to multi-task.
• Proven problem solving capabilities.
• Understand business requirements as they relate to operational processes.
• Familiarity with version control tools (CVS).
• Familiarity with HTML and XML.
• Experience with large scale architectural design and the ability to implement within such an environment.
• Knowledge of the Market and Credit Risk businesses (nice to have but not a must).


Please note the Oracle/Sybase/SQL requirements is more of a "one of these is good", rather than that they would need all 3.
