Our client has a requirement for a HRM Application Support Technician  for a PERM opportunity.  The position is located in Toronto, ON.

Role

This role assists the HRM Team in maintaining, administering, and supporting the Hospital Report Manager (HRM) application and related systems. Working with the Operations Team, this role sets up and operates HRM applications environments, administers facilities on-boarding and troubleshoots related applications, messaging system, networks, software and hardware.

Responsibilities
  • Working closely with the HRM Integration Lead and the HRM Team to support HRM applications, systems, infrastructure and stakeholders
  • Assisting in running different applications including Integration/messaging engines (e.g. Orion Rhapsody), sFTP server, MS-SQL with the physician registry database, Syslogs, monitoring and notifications tools
  • Helping in operating Microsoft Windows servers (e.g. maintain, backup, and update) in a VMware virtualized environment
  • Attending to Service Desk tickets, escalations, and working with external stakeholders until tickets are resolved
  • Contributing to test plans related to connectivity, validation, messaging exchanges, stress/load, and
    communicating results with team lead and stakeholders
  • Helping in troubleshooting HL7 and XML messaging issues, sFTP, sending facility (e.g. hospitals) and receiving
    facility (e.g. clinics) issues
  • Monitoring systems performance, reviewing systems logs and preparing various operational reports and statistics
  • Documenting processes, diagrams, and system (hardware and software) inventory
  • Researching and recommending software, hardware and application tools to meet business objectives
  • Performing operations duties within the same domain as assigned by the Manager of Operations and Support
Requirements 
  • Honours University degree in Computer Science or Engineering is mandatory
  • Excellent team, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear and concise documentation
  • Strong ability to learn quickly, and possess the willingness to adapt to change in business working landscape Hands on working technical experience with Windows 2008 servers, MS-SQL 2008 clustering, VMware, TCP/IP, systems security or related infrastructure
  • Basic knowledge of testing concepts (e.g. test scripts) and procedures
  • Excellent client facing skills. Must be able to answer questions and talk physicians and stakeholders through
    issues in an articulate and effective manner to meet service level agreement times
An asset to have one or more of the following:
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in applications support in a health care related industry
  • Hands on working experience with Java/ASP.Net/VB
  • Strong understanding of PHI scope and sensitivities, usage of HL7 and XML
  • Hands on working experience with application and integration tools, messaging protocols (e.g. MLLP), data mapping and transformation.
