Job Description

Our client has a requirement for SR. MECHANICAL DESIGNER CATIA v. 5 for a permanent opportunity.  The positions are located in Aurora.

Requirements or Qualifications  

• CAD/PLM proficiency in CATIA V5
• Class 'A' surfacing experience a must
• FTA and GD&T a plus
• Past experience in Automotive required
• Past experience working for Large Automotive OEM a plus (GM or FORD)
• Modify existing product designs in accordance with established engineering specifications.
• Work closely with engineers to improve designs that can be economically produced
• The candidate will be able to work with flexibility, while maintaining high standards and quality work.
• The applicant must have excellent English communication skills; must be well organized; able to work independently while maintaining close contact at all times with his/her immediate supervisor.
• The candidate will be capable of working in a fast paced environment. Proficiency in the use of drafting software, and other standard office software is a must.
• Experience in the industrial sector will be an asset. The successful candidate will foster an environment that generates professionalism, technical excellence, accuracy and timeliness.
• Must be able to work well within a team environment.
• Must possess strong communication skills and good attitude.
• Must be able to demonstrate effective organizational skills.
• Project management skills are welcomed 

Qualifications & Skills

• 5-10 years of experience in the Automotive Industry
• Bachelors Degree in Engineering
• Proven Design Capability in CATIA v5
• Working knowledge of GD&T Principles
• Experience with Surfacing and Kinematics
