Job Description:
Our client has a requirement for a Software Developer III - Java for a 6 month contract opportunity. The position is located in Toronto.

Role:
We are looking for two Sr Java software developers who are proficient with Java, comfortable with other coding languages; proficient with Tibrv (Tibco) event subscribe and publish mechanism; proficient with real time applications; strong UNIX, LINUX and SQL experience.
Candidates are starting the first week of January. Interviews will take place next week or the week of December 9th only. Please ensure candidates are available on the interview dates as manager is away on vacation in between. Candidates will be shortlisted on Thursday or Friday at the latest.
Securities Technology Solutions is responsible for the support, development and implementation of the systems used by various groups in Securities. Driven by market demands, the department operates in a fast-paced and continually changing environment.
Within Securities Technology Solutions, the FX Electronic trading team is responsible for delivering and maintaining the implementation of electronic trading systems for the key stakeholders (front office). The team is responsible for the development of fixes and enhancements to the FX electronic trading systems.
The contract developer, reports to the Senior Manager, FX Electronic Trading Team. The position works closely with other team members, and internal source system contacts.
The incumbent is required to have strong technical, oral and written communications skills. The incumbent must be very well organised. A good knowledge of capital markets products and Foreign Exchange is an asset. Familiarity with existing bank systems is an asset.

ENSURING THAT SYSTEM ENHANCEMENTS / NEW DEVELOPMENT ARE IMPLEMENTED IN A TIMELY MANNER BY:
· Developing and testing implementation of technology objectives to ensure timely delivery of project and support deliverables
· Creating mini-project plans for individual enhancements
· Development of code to meet business specification
· Being an expert system user
· Assisting other developers in organizing and performing their tasks
· Ensuring that deadlines are met by identifying critical issues that arise in assigned tasks
· Ensuring that system documentation is maintained
· Identify critical issues that may arise in specific tasks
· Keeping management informed on progress of tasks and to convey problems that require further escalation
· Developing and maintaining good working relationships with other team members
· Communicate progress to management on regular basis
