Job Description:
Our client has a requirement for Senior Buyer, Project Procurement for EPC for a permanent opportunity. The positions are located in Mississauga, Ontario.

Our client is a leading EPC company with a strong presence in North America with over 7000 employees, and currently expanding its Oil & Gas and Mining operations to w worldwide level. Due to their rapid growth, they are in need of a Senior Buyer with Project Procurement background in EPC Environments.
Requirement or Qualifications:
The Buyer is responsible to follow the company Project Procurement procedures for all assigned tasks and/or packages.
The Buyer’s function will consist of the following:
- Coordinate with Engineering regarding project requirements.
- Together with the discipline/package engineer, prepare bidders lists.
- Bid, evaluate, negotiate, and prepare award recommendations for assigned material/equipment packages (including free-issue materials), based on Engineering Requisitions.
- Obtain recommendation approvals, prepare purchase agreements, and obtain required signatures for all assigned packages.
- Manage revisions/changes for equipment/Material assigned packages.
- Together with the engineering discipline, determine if a bid clarification and/or kick-off meeting is required and facilitate such a meeting.
- Prepare minutes of meetings
- Provide constructive input to the evolution of the Project Procurement Procedures.
- Monitor supplier performance, and maintain positive vendor relationships.
- Knowledge and communication of market conditions.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 to 10 years EPCM experience in Project Procurement preferably at a Senior Buyer Level
- Needs to be self sufficient and experienced in working in a fast track environment
- Advanced excel skills and excellent communication skills both verbal and written (desirable)
- Prefer candidates with an EPC background
