Job Description:
Our client has a requirement for an enthusiastic service desk analyst for a permanent position located in Ottawa. Reporting to the Manager IT Support and Service, the Service Analyst will be focused on providing first level support to our internal and external customer base. The candidate must have strong technical and problem solving skills, coupled with good communications skills. The position also requires shift work (8 hour shifts) on a 5/24 basis as well as a security clearance at the secret level.

Requirement or Qualifications:
• College Diploma (2 or 3 year) in Computer Science
• 3+ years of prior experience in an IT Operations environment (Service Desk)
• Must be able to work a 5/24 shift schedule rotation
• Bilingual
• ITIL Foundations certified is an asset
• Demonstrates analytical, organizational, planning skills
• Well developed oral and written communication skills
• Strong technical and problem solving skills
• Skill in coordinating activities, evaluating issues, and establishing priorities.
• Demonstrated ability to assume responsibility with minimal supervision
• Strong customer service orientation
• Experience with Mainframe – IBM Mainframe; TSO CICS
• Familiar with a Microsoft Environment – Active Directory, MS Office(Word, Excel, Access, Visio)
• Familiar with IP Networking concepts
• Well versed with Microsoft office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Visio)
