Job Description:

Our client has a requirement for a Database Administrator for a contract opportunity.  The position is located in Ottawa.

Requirement or Qualifications:

Qualified Candidates will have:

Successful completion of a post-secondary degree/diploma in Computer Science, Systems Engineering or related field, from a recognized academic institution;

And

B –A minimum of twelve (12) years professional work experience within the IT field, of which seven (7) years have been as a Database Administrator.

OR

A minimum of fourteen (14) years professional work experience within the IT field, of which nine (9) years have been as a Database Administrator.

• Government of Canada Enhanced Security Clearance
• At least 3 years in the last 5 years IT experience in business analysis, business information system management, project design, development, test and maintenance;
• At least 3 years in the last 5 years DBMS (Database Management System) experience with IDMS as a DBA.
• At least 3 years in the last 5 years experience in working in a large government or private enterprise organization;
• At least 3 years in the last 5 years experience in working in COBOL
• Strong  team player
• Ability to mentor staff and provide knowledge transfer
• Ability to follow Standards
• Ability to perform problem analysis and resolution
