About the Job

Our client has a requirement for a Senior Solutions Architect for a six month contract opportunity.  The positions are located in Toronto.

Role

IT Architects facilitate and provide directional guidance in the creation, development and delivery of business-driven solutions that makes efficient use of resources. Architects develop and/or align initiatives to roadmaps, assess options, prepare project level blueprints, review SDLC deliverables, and file architectural governance artifacts.  Our mission is to maximize business value by balancing strategic architectural direction with speed of delivery, ability to leverage shared services/infrastructure, scalability, flexibility, and availability.

Responsibilities

The incumbent will provide architectural direction in structure, design, technology and infrastructure, as part of the process of developing, customizing, integrating and maintaining systems for our Technology Solutions organization.  

The incumbent will provide solutions and technical architecture guidance and oversight to business, project delivery, and system support teams as they develop and maintain client technology solutions.

Requirements or Qualifications

Qualified Candidates will have:

• Senior Solution Architect with minimum of 5 years experience in a large organization *or* with a consulting firm.
• Must be able to converse with technology and business partners using vocabulary that is tailored to the audience.
• Must be able to influence others through strong decision-making, negotiation and presentation skills.
• Must have experience with Architecture Governance (process, decision-making, escalations, stakeholder communication, blueprinting, road mapping, documentation, etc.
• Exposure to TOGAF or Zachman a nice-to-have.
• Must have experience architecting solutions for the Web with an emphasis on reuse vis-à-vis Multi-Channel Architecture.
• Must have experience designing Enterprise Java solutions.
• Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture and experience identifying and consuming Web Services. Knowledge of SOAP/XSD/WSDL a nice-to-have.
• Experience with Integration Patterns and technologies. Knowledge of IBM ESB products (WebSphere DataPower and Enterprise Service Bus) a nice-to-have.
• Must have exposure to domain architecture (Data, Business, Infrastructure, etc  ...) and experience liaising with individuals in these roles.
• Knowledge of Business Process and Rules Management concepts. Experience with Pega Rules Process Commander a nice-to-have.
• Experience in Financial Services a nice-to-have.
