Job Description:
Our client has a requirement for a CADD Technologist for a permanent opportunity. The positions are located in Iqaluit, Nunavut.

Requirement or Qualifications:
Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the CAD Technologist will be responsible for drafting functions including the production of complex layouts, drawings and charts using CAD equipment and techniques. Some travel by small aircraft to other communities in Nunavut may be required.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Supervision of the drafting function
- Establishes project drafting standards and monitors adherence plans, schedules, progress, quality and costs
- Produces complex and complete layouts, drawings, charts with a high degree of technical accuracy using CAD equipment and techniques
- Coordinates special projects and provides analysis of cost and specification
- Designs and develops detail drawings from rough sketches involving intricate calculations and the application of fundamental designing principals
- Contributes to the decision making process on highly technical drafting issues
Required Qualifications include:
- Technical college graduate in drafting technology/CAD
- Minimum 5 years related experience
- Consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of studies and experience
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Above average interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Successful completion of a criminal background, reference and driver’s abstract clearance
- Proven organizational skills
- Self-directed, innovative and highly motivated
- Ability to work as a team member and adapt to changing tasks
Desirable Skills and Experience include:
- As this position may supervise the work of other drafting personnel, leadership skills are desirable
- Adaptability and ability to work cross-culturally
- Experience working in remote/isolated northern/aboriginal communities
