About the Job
Our client is a Tier-One supplier to the major automotive manufacturers, a full service, expanding leader in the design and manufacture of automotive systems and complex modules. They are looking for a Corporate Logistics Manager to work in the north Toronto corporate center. As a leader you will be providing strategic leadership for managing transportation and logistics across all business units within the global operations. On a tactical level you will focus on cost management, supplier management, and efficiency improvement to develop and maintain a competitive edge.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for direction & leadership for transportation and logistics services, develop & implement global logistics strategy in a cross –functional, multi-site operating setting
- Evaluate & review VMI (vendor managed inventory) programs – with attention to supplier locations, logistics costs, plant specific inventory reductions.
- Evaluate and review potential supply chain related risk enterprise wide, develop and implement risk mitigation plans.
- Develop & implement policies and procedures consistent with departmental goals and objectives.
- Review supply chain specifications, service delivery and quality match specific business needs.
- Maintain full compliance with the laws of each province, states, and countries
- Maintain safety, perform work place inspection, conduct information sessions, incident investigation, employee training, perform employee safety observations, comply with Section 27 of the Occupational Health and Safety.
Requirements or Qualifications
- Leadership - to manage, develop, cross- cultural teams in multi-site operational locations, communicate strategy and vision to stakeholders.
- A strategic, big picture of business, the ability to develop strategy and implement plans.
- The ability to understand complex financial data.
- Proven skills art negotiation; developing relationships; coach, lead develop people both locally and remotely; problem solving skills.
- University or equivalent college diploma in Engineering or Business.
- Solid supply change management ( min 8 years) with a focus on logistics and transportation, knowledge of materials management, hands-on experience with cost management initiatives (cost reduction, leverage buying, rebate programs..), NAFTA compliance, risk mitigation, ERP in Trans4M/SAP, TS16949 and ISO 14001.
