About the Job
Our client is currently seeking an Applications Specialists for a 6 month contract; this position will be based out of our Creekside (Mississauga) facility.

Responsibilities: Implementation Services is situated on the critical path of application and Infrastructure implementations. The Business Application Services teams are responsible for testing, deploying and updating support documentation of the Bank’s business applications. As a member of the Business Application Services team, you will be primarily responsible for non-functional testing and deployment of application change into the production environment. The team works with various distributed technologies/applications (UNIX, Windows and AS400). You will also work closely with Technology Solutions, Operations Support, External vendors, Business users and Engineering teams to ensure the successful implementation of products/changes into the production environment.
SOFT SKILLS:
· Strong documentation skills pertaining to the support of testing and implementation.
· Possess excellent communication (both written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
· Have strong customer service skills.
· Be organized, self-motivated and goal oriented.
· Demonstrate sound time management skills.
· Have a willingness to take ownership of tasks and see them through to successful completion
MUST HAVES:
· Knowledge of SDLC process
· Knowledge of Infrastructure deployments
· Strong knowledge of application deployment.
· 3+ years of experience with Windows.net applications (‘03, ‘05, ‘08)-ability to navigate through the system.
· 3+ years of experience of UNIX/ AIX platform.
· 3+ years of experience with JAVA.
· 5+ years of experience in Change and Problem Management methodologies
· 1+ years of experience with Middleware components such as WebSphere 5,6,7 or Oracle
· 2+ years of experience having exposure to UAT/PAT and Production environments
· Incident tracking tool / Ticketing Tool (Internally TD uses USD – Unicentre Service Desk) however we will accept other tools; Remedy / Heat/ Clarify…etc.
· Be proficient with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel
· 1+ years of experience using MKS (2007) but will also accept CVS or CSS as well. (this is a tool used to go from Development to PAT and Production)
NICE TO HAVE:
· 1+ years of experience with UNIX based scripting (Shell / Perl)
· Prior Banking experience
· Financial/Banking Industry experience
**Due to the nature of this role, there may be occasions for on-call / off-hours /occasional weekends**
