Our client has a requirement for an Application Architect for a 6 month Contract opportunity. This position is located in Toronto, ON.

Role
The Application Architect
will be part of the Business Intelligence development team with
designing ETL processes, Model Database, Develop ETL processes with
Strong SQL and design skills. The individual will be responsible for
developing Source-To-Target-Mapping, Data Extract Rules and designing
ETL processes and tools for data extraction & loading,
transformation and cleansing implementing business rules.
Skills and Qualifications
- 5 + years Data Warehouse design, various ETL application, SQL and SQL Server, SSIS, .NET
- 10+ years experience in Database/SQL skills in one or more popular database technologies preferably SQL Server, DB2, and Oracle.
- Expert in ETL technology with Dataware house specific skill set. Expertise in MICROSOFT ETL tool and related technologies.
- SSAS and MDX programming
- Create SRS/SDS and Architectural artefacts required during SDLC life cycle.
- Solid understanding of transaction and information systems, data warehouses, data marts, OD, MDM methodologies and life cycles as well as ETL and MDM technologies
- Data ware house environments such as partitioning, conditional, CUBEs, Dimension and fact definitions as well other de-normalization techniques
- Strong knowledge of relational and DW database architectures With knowledge of database lifecycle design and application development
- Experience with electronic systems trading systems in capital market environment a plus
- Data analysis/profiling and reverse engineering of data
- Knowledge of scripting and/or programming languages
- Familiarity with performance tuning techniques in the SQLServer/DB2
- Knowledge of application modeling languages / techniques (e.g. UML, OML, entity relationship modeling, DFDs) including the ability to create and read the associated diagrams

Define specifications, technical requirements, systems performance objectives and ongoing assessment of architectural strategy SKILLS: Proven experience in ETL Technologies as well as UNIX, SQL and RDBMS. Expert knowledge of data modeling, data architecture, data dictionaries and Meta Data.
The Data Analytics delivery team is responsible for enterprise business solutions utilized by the DCTS division of a financial industry. Data warehouse solutions are implemented on SQL Server 2008 with SSIS ETL tool and SQL Server providing BI solutions to our technology clients and business partners.
• Translating business requirements into SRS and SDS to develop database design and ETL processes.
• Gather & identify business data requirements from business partners across the business, understand the information needs and translate those data requirements into conceptual, logical and physical database models. Involve in design of the database models will include creation of various stages and specific marts.
• Work with Enterprise Solution Architects and Project Team leads to design the data repository for complex processes and interfaces.
• Analyze Source Systems and perform complex Source data analysis to support ad-hoc and standing reporting development
• Experience in designing Operational databases, analytical data warehouses, and specific data marts designed to support operational and transformation layers
• Maintain and enhance data model for the ETL Layer and Datawarehouse.
Perform system analysis, design, programming, testing, and walkthroughs following the SDLC methodology and adhering to bank technology standards
• Produce test plans/scripts and perform test execution using available/appropriate tools
• Utilize the system development life cycle (SDLC) and project management methodology (PMLC) to create, review and complete required project documentation
• Contribute to team success by meeting key project milestones and overall project deliverables on time and within budget, while adhering to development and quality standards
• Participate in knowledge transfer within the team and with our technology partners
