Our client has a requirement for QA Specialist for a 1 year contract opportunity.  The position is located in Toronto.

Role:
Scope of Service and Deliverables
  • This Systems Testing / QA Specialist ensures the IAR application of the CCIM initiative is thoroughly tested and is responsible for identifying system errors prior to deployment.
  • The Systems Testing / QA Specialist will ensure that potential faults, issues and concerns in the IAR application are identified and escalated to the development teams, so that the community care sectors continue to have confidence in the quality and performance of the IAR application and the CCIM initiative.
  • This Systems Testing / QA Specialist will also provide QA expertise and advice to the technology support team responsible for the operations and maintenance of the production environment.
  • Provide expertise in testing of the Integrated Assessment Record, including:
  • Messaging and reporting applications, components, interfaces and transformations;
  • User Interface and business logic; and
  • Third party integrations.
  • Develop/update and execute test cases, and report on all types of testing including technical and
  • business functional validation and application regression testing.
  • Evaluate and report on the quality of test cases & software products, and make
  • recommendations for deployment.
  • Review requirements, release notes and designs, and develop and document comprehensive

Business Systems– standards, processes and tools for collecting financial and statistical data for evidence-based decision support and planning, integrating and funding of Community Care services, including such application systems as the Management Information System (MIS) and Human Resources Information System (HRIS).

Assessment Tools - internationally recognized automated tools and standardized processes that facilitate the collection and use of client information, creating a sustainable approach to manage and measure improvement in client outcomes over time.

Integrated Assessment Record (IAR) - an integration application that enables client assessment information to be available as clients move from one health service provider (HSP) to another. HSPs can use IAR to view client assessment information electronically, securely, and accurately, ensuring collaborative information management and planning.


Requirements:
  • Prepare and execute test plans, run test cases, create detailed bug reports etc.
  • Support other analysts by reviewing work and providing feedback.
  • Assist the development team by reproducing defects under investigation.
  • Work collaboratively within the team to develop and improve QA processes.
  • Complete work and achieve milestones within the assigned deadlines;
  • Notify the Cluster/Ministry project Manager in writing of any issues or other material concerns
  • related to the Assignment Deliverables, as soon as the he/she becomes aware of them;
  • Submit Deliverables for the Cluster/Ministry approval as they are completed;
  • Comply with the Ontario Government and the Cluster/Ministry security procedures and practices;
  • Comply with the Ontario Government and the Cluster/Ministry architecture/technology standards
  • and best practices;
  • Comply with the Ontario Government and the Cluster/Ministry Conflict of Interest and
  • Confidentiality Guidelines;
  • Provide knowledge and skill transfer to a designated Cluster/Ministry staff; and
  • Comply with the Ontario Government I&IT Directive, Operational Policy on the I&IT Project
  • Gateway Process, and other applicable Guidelines, Standards and Procedures. Below are the key qualifications required for the role:
  • 5+ years of experience providing QA support in a deadline driven, application development and complex system integration environment
  • Advanced level knowledge of and experience with:
  • QA principles, practices, tools and structured methodologies; QA management processes including defect management
  • Creating testing strategy documentation, test plans, test cases and test data for various types and phases of testing
  • Requirements management/gap analysis, test scope definition, and requirements traceability
  • An understanding of the Ontario Healthcare Reporting Standards (OHRS)
  • 2+ years of experience working in the healthcare industry, specifically in maintaining and
  • supporting systems such as Electronic Medical Records (EMRs), Hospital Information Systems (HISs), Clinical Assessment tools, and Ontario Healthcare Reporting Standards (OHRS) compliant Financial and Human Resource Management Systems
  • Knowledge of Personal Health Information (PHI) protection legislative requirements and how they apply to developing and maintaining healthcare systems containing personal health Information (PHI)


Knowledge of and experience with:
  • Testing the Orion Health Suite, including CDR, Concerto Portal, Case Management and the Rhapsody Integration Engine
  • JAVA, .NET and web development methodologies and best practices
  • Databases and the SQL Language
  • XML, XSLT and XML schemas (XSD)
  • EAI principles and technologies and data transformation techniques
  • Automated test tools, including QTP
  • An enterprise-wide platform
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal and written skills
  • A motivated, flexible, creative team player with perseverance, excellent multi-tasking abilities and
  • a proven track record for meeting strict deadlines
