Our client has a requirement for Programmer/ Developer (Level 2) for a 12 months contract opportunity. The position is located in Toronto.

Role
An intermediate (Level 2) Programmer/Developer is required to customize the Integrated Assessment Record (IAR) Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) software application to meet the requirements as identified by IAR stakeholders. A customized IAR solution is required to ensure that client needs and requirements are met, which will support the successful implementation of the IAR application.
The role is required to provide development expertise and guidance to the technology team responsible for the maintenance of the production environment.
The Programmer/Developer is a critical resource in ensuring that all development in technology environments meet the needs of users and operate within the defined service levels.
 
Responsibilities
  • Developing assessment forms in Concerto.
  • Working with integration developers to ensure assessment information is collected, stored, and displayed as per business requirements.
  • Working with business analysts to develop design documents.
  • Assisting with application deployment activities
  • Assisting in the prioritization of defects and enhancements.
  • Coordinating with third party development resources to coordinate external deliverables.
  • Escalating issues appropriately to the Integrated Assessment technical lead.
  • Maintaining/managing code base using appropriate version control.
  • Liaising with IAR technical team.
  • Maintaining project documentation to reflect code changes.
  • Complete work and achieve milestones within the assigned deadlines.
  • Notify the Project Manager in writing of any issues or other material concerns related to the Assignment Deliverables, as soon as he/she becomes aware of them.
  • Submit Deliverables for the Cluster/Ministry approval as they are completed.
  • Comply with our client's procedures and practices.
  • Comply with our client's architecture/technology standards and best practices.
  • Comply with our client's Conflict of Interest and Confidentiality Guidelines.
  • Provide knowledge and skill transfer to a designated staff.
  • Comply with the Operational Policy on the I&IT Project Gateway Process, and other applicable Guidelines, Standards and Procedures.
 
Qualifications
  • 5+ years’ experience with integration technologies such as XML and SOAP.
  • 3+ years’ experience with the following: SQL, PL-SQL, Google charts, Crystal report development, HTML, Cascading Style sheets, FOP files for PDF printing, XML, XSLT, XSL-FO, Java, JavaScript.
  • User interface and web services development experience.
  • Orion Healthcare Suite, comprising of Concerto and Rhapsody development experience.
  • Knowledge of personal health information protection legislative requirements and how they apply to developing and maintaining healthcare systems containing personal health information.
  • trong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; verbal and written communication skills; and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple deliverables and to work independently with minimal supervision.
