Job Description:

Our client has a requirement for IT Analyst/Programmers (AS400) for a 12 month contract opportunity.  The positions are located in Mississauga.

As an integral part of the team, you will participate on the analysis for conversion from present procedures to new computer systems. The role will involve to carry out general systems design and analysis activities, maintenance of systems, specific tasks related to operating systems, and online database and communications. 

• Work as a member of project teams
• Analyze any user requirement from the business point of view and support the analysis of the requirement before offering a new system solution
• Investigate users' requests as to the current process
• Develop solutions to be presented to users for approval
• Investigate how the existing application system is handling the current process and suggest possible solutions either through system change or by changing current process at user site
• Develop the report format and execute program to provide the report requested by users
• Maintain application systems
• Liaison with users to determine requirements
• Create RPG report and other programs per user requests.
• Create query report as per user request
• Other job related duties as assigned

Requirement or Qualifications:

• A minimum of 3 years experience with IBM AS400 computers
• A minimum of 2 years experience with RPG/400 and Query 400
• Experience with RPG/IV, ILE, and COBOL (an asset)
• Excellent project management, customer service, communications, and analytical skills
• Very strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work under pressure in order to meet deadlines
• Ability to work independently and to be a team player when working on projects
