Our client has a requirement for Technical Lead for a full time opportunity. The position is located in Edmonton, Alberta.

Requirement or Qualifications:
Primary Focus:
The technical lead provides management direction and participates in development and support initiatives as a team lead. The technical lead will support the business by providing an approach, solution, plan, priority and team to implement their business initiatives. They will manage and coordinate all assigned business requests, which will utilize their strong information technology programming experience with a focus on structured object oriented languages such as .net and Java languages. This position is responsible for overseeing support of the channel’s technical environments.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership, coaching, guidance, direction, and mentoring to all assigned resources
- Interact with all levels of the organization to identify opportunities for system enhancements, new development and process improvements
- Prepare plans for application development, implementation and ongoing system support
- Both completes and directs application development based on experience with .net and other development technologies.
- Provides direction to the application developers during development and implementation Provides support for Disaster Recovery as required.
- Provide direction relative to daily administration, monitoring, troubleshooting and tuning of a complex application environment
- Work closely with Corporate Solution Delivery and Technical Architects to ensure delivery based on Client Enterprise standards and guidelines.
- Ensure changes are performed within change control process for the application and architecture.
- Recommends and implements policies and standards and ensures adherence to security procedures.
- Creates and maintains accurate documentation.
- Provides on-call support as assigned
Prerequisites:
- Must have a university degree in Computer Science or equivalent education/experience.
- Must have 5 to 7 years experience in Information Technology
- .net and Java programming experience required
- An understanding of the .net and Java architecture
