Job Description:
Our client has a requirement for a Systems Analyst for a full time opportunity. The position is located in Edmonton, Alberta.
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for providing a wide range of technical support services including new application development, and maintenance of existing business solutions, as well as implementation and support of third party solutions.
Primary Focus:
Reporting to the Development Resource Manager, Application Services, you will be responsible for providing a wide range of technical support services including implementation and support of third party applications, application deployments and maintenance of existing business solutions. The primary focus of the Systems Analyst is to provide analysis, development, and implementation of new applications to various business units. The Systems Analyst will be working with the business to understand the business requirements, and recommend solutions using appropriate technologies.
Specific Accountabilities:
- Interact with all levels of the business to identify opportunities for system enhancements and process improvements.
- Prepare plans for application development, implementation and ongoing system support.
- Manage, co-ordinate and monitor project implementation and post implementation as required for new initiatives and enhancements.
- Implementation and support of third party applications, as well as deployments of in-house developed applications
- Develop and maintain tactical relationships with vendors in order to support daily operations.
- Research new and emerging technologies.
- Design and build databases.
- Design and build applications.
- Design and complete data loads and extractions from various ATB systems.
- Prepare system documentation and training material.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy.
- Prepare ad-hoc and application standard reporting.
- Provides on-call and after hours support as assigned, on a rotational basis
Prerequisites:
- University degree, or post-secondary accreditation in a related field;
- 3-5 years technical experience;
