About the Job
Job Description
Our client has a requirement for a Programmer Analyst to join their team. This is a 6 month contract located in Edmonton, Alberta
- Responsible for the design and/or re-design of current and/or new data models in an Oracle environment, including the use of views and historical tables. This includes all documentation related to ongoing support and/or future enhancements.
- Responsible for the design, code, test, and analysis of applications in Java. This includes researching, designing, documenting, and modifying software specifications throughout the production lifecycle.
- Design and develop interfaces to exchange data with external parties using web services.
- Troubleshoot application problems.
- Provide backup and support to other technical resources.
Education and Experience:
- Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Science/Management or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a fast-paced, high profile, operational environment.
- Strong experience with Java development is mandatory.
- Strong experience in all aspects of the software lifecycle including design and testing.
- Strong experience with SQL programming and relational databases.
- Experience with business intelligence tools is an asset.
- Experience with SharePoint is an asset.
- Demonstrate a strong technical background in Oracle and Java.
