About the Job
Our client has a requirement for Data Centre Design Specialist for a 6 month contract opportunity. The position is located in Toronto.
Requirements:
- Minimum (6) years experience with Data Centre design and implementation;
- Able to prepare detailed technical specifications for a Design/Build RFP;
- Experience with high density Data Centre computing;
- Very familiar with latest energy saving technologies for Data Centers;
- Expertise in Data Centre capacity planning for space, redundant electrical power distribution, generator backup, redundant HVAC, humidity, and physical security.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years high level data centre strategy;
- Minimum 10 years estimate of: data centre capacity requirements; power consumption estimates; power redundancy requirements; HVAC;
- Able to work closely with Senior IT Infrastructure Architect and Manager of Network Engineering;
- Able to execute technical design/build specification for a new Data Centre which will located in a client-owned facility;
- Experience in participating in the evaluation of responses for the RFP;
- Able to develop migration plans to new data center.
