About the Job

Our client has a requirement for IT Project Manager (Credit Systems) for a 6 months’ contract opportunity. The position is located in Mississauga, Ontario.


Job Description


Requirements or Qualifications

We are looking for a senior IT Project Manager with Credit Systems experience to work on a number of projects. The candidate needs to have an understanding of distributed systems environment (WAS, Java) as well as Host

•Manage day to day project activities of medium complexity or units/phases of a larger complex project Plan, execute, control and close out project against defined scope and budget. Utilize accepted standards and procedures. Maintain team relationships and team coaching and development. Manage stakeholder expectations. Manage risk and ensure compliance.
•The successful candidate will be responsible for the oversight and execution of several medium complexity projects.


Key accountabilities are:

•Works autonomously in the management of the unit and collaborates with other business heads to establish and execute on common goals.
•Manages activities of medium complexity projects. Ensures delivery of projects to the business partner, meeting the approved scope/cost/schedule/quality for the project.
•Perform a governing role for, ensuring that the proposal, execution, control, deployment, training and hand off, warranty support, and closure to meet schedules.
•Strong involvement in business IMO.
•Management of small to large projects (ranging in size from $400K to $3M), including multiple internal applications and external vendors.
•Estimation and planning, risk assessment, contingency planning, tracking and management of progress, issues, budget, risk and resources.
•Accountability for project budget and time lines.


SKILLS:

•Proven leadership skills and experience managing IT projects.
•Full life cycle development experience.
•Experience with proven project methodology tools.
•PMI or ITIL certification.
•Expertise in MS Project, Excel, Visio and Powerpoint.


Candidates must have the following skills:

•Banking/Credit adjudication or personal lending experience as a Project Manager (preference will be given to candidates with recent experience)
•Management of mid size (500K to 1m) projects
•Candidate must have extremely strong communication (written & verbal) skills.
•Adaptable – must be able to bring clarity to uncertainty
•Autonomous – able to work on their own to gather information and get the job done
•Previous Off Shore experience will be a definite asset
•Understanding of distributed systems environment (WAS, Java) as well as Host is needed
