Job Description

Our client has a requirement for Infrastructure Field Technical Analyst for 6 months Contract, full time opportunity. The positions are located in Calgary, Alberta


Scope of Work/Description:

In this intermediate level role, the Infrastructure Field Technical Analyst will be responsible for the support and development of initiatives related to IT hardware, network and telecom infrastructure solutions across the Client field portfolio. This team is accountable for delivery of the Client infrastructure disciplines including Voice Telecom, Data Telecom, Desktop Infrastructure, Mobility Tools, and Hardware for field sites. This team acts as the primary interface to the various working groups in the company with respect to ensuring the IT business needs of Client field sites are satisfied. They also ensure that business requirements are communicated to partnering IT teams, and work with both parties and required vendors to ensure delivery of the most effective solution. Please note that for this role there will be some travel to field sites.

Technical Skills and Qualifications:

•A University degree in Computer Science/Engineering or Technical Diploma/certification in a similar area
•Knowledge in all aspects of IT Infrastructure: network and telecom, mobile devices, desktop infrastructure, and other hardware utilized in a field-based setting
•Ability to conduct ongoing assessments of IT activities versus business strategy, influencing business and IT decisions as necessary to ensure infrastructure services meet business requirements
•Ability to work with IT management, vendors and internal clients to ensure new and existing IT infrastructure projects are prioritized against business objectives, requirements, and architecture
•Knowledge and experience working with IT groups in an upstream oil and gas environment would be beneficial
