GIS SUPPORT SPECIALIST

Our GTA client has a requirement for a GIS Support Specialist. This is a 12month contract to start located in Toronto.

The Specialist will have extensive demonstrated knowledge and experience with leading the development and implementation of utility based GIS technologies, both Dx and Tx, for a broad cross section of business disciplines and user needs, preferably in an electric utility environment.

Preference is given to experience with using GIS in context with next-generation utility work programs such as Smart Grid, Distribution Management, and Enterprise Asset Management, delivered via web-based platforms and services oriented architectures (SOA). Experience also required in information management. Such experience should include multiple project and multiple stakeholder environments.


Must Have Skills and Qualififcations:

•6+ years of technical experience in an IT environment and 4+ years of project support experience. This should include a successful record of developing and delivering IT and business process solutions based on customer requirements.
•Significant experience management large projects involving the implementation of business change and new/enhanced systems, preferably with direct experience at electric utilities.
•Experience and knowledge with GIS, EAI, including real-time and mobile applications and with Dx applications such as distribution planning and distribution management.
•Understanding of GIS and related utility business processes and how GIS can enable these processes.
