Job Description
We are currently seeking a Technical Architect for a 3 month contract opportunity in Toronto Ontario.
Key Responsibilities/Job Functions: • demonstrated experience, knowledge and skills in all aspects of OPS business/application/information architecture, strategic architecture planning, and related applications, technologies, tools, methodologies and trends • ability to identify client and user business requirements to develop detailed plans for large scale and complex business architecture projects (Zachman EA) • business architecture experience in complex, multi-project/multi-client environments (Zachman Rows 1-3) -Provides technical leadership to less experienced colleagues -Responsible for the analysis, design, product selection, building and implementation of complex components. -Provides analysis and some review to less senior staff. -Contributes to technical analysis, design, and implementation. -Provides costs relative to solutions. -Develops architecture and integration to support large-scale enterprise initiatives. -Defines project scope, plans and deliverables including cost and timelines. -Leads design initiatives. -Develops and delivers presentations to all levels of the organization, including executive level, as required. -Translates technical specifications to working documents. -Reviews / approves detailed documentation for implementation teams. -Reviews / approves plans for testing requirements for validation of system design. -Applies defined guidelines to effectively manage risks. -Recommends lifecycle / roadmap of complex products. -Work with vendors to develop options and provide recommendations. -Participates in review / development of industry standards. -Contributes to creation and delivery of intellectual capital assets. -Ensures support is available and acts as escalation point for specified technologies. - Extensive experience developing architecture artefacts to satisfy the OPS checkpoint review process including but not limited to; class models, control diagrams and sequence diagrams - Extensive experience in facilitating workshops for the development of business architecture Artifacts - Knowledge of OPS Enterprise Architecture Standards - Knowledge of and experience with Zachman Framework and development of OO Artifacts - Knowledge of existing OPS common components
Experience and Education Preferred: -Expert understanding of one or more: servers, storage, system management, performance analysis, application configuration, database, SAN, LAN, WAN, remote access, security, telephony, messaging (email), automation, desktop systems. -Undergraduate degree required. 5-10 years experience IT architecture and planning; ability to produce IT solutions, both independently and collaboratively. -Experience and/or training related to Architecture & Service Delivery Frameworks (TOGAF, eTOM, ITIL, CoBiT, etc.)
