Job Description:
Our client has a requirement for an IT Contract Manager & Outsourcing Advisor for a 1 year contract opportunity.  The position is located in Toronto.

Role:
In support of the ongoing sustainment and service management operation, the Client requires an IT Contract Manager & Outsourcing Advisor to manage and govern the IT asset contract administration, life-cycle management and ongoing outsourcing governance. Accountabilities include:

General Accountabilities:
  • Manage complex information technology (IT) centered projects over the full project life-cycle.
  • Provide leadership, guidance and technical expertise in the management of contract negotiations and outsourcing governance.
  • Monitoring of activities and achievements
  • Maintenance of schedules and monitoring of costs and Sustainment budgets.
Specific Accountabilities:
  • Provide governance oversight in third-party vendor IT contract maintenance – ensuring availability of hardware and software service levels with vendors while aligning to business needs.
  • Provide governance oversight to manage IT outsource service provider in the administration of IT hardware and software contracts.
  • Effect financial arrangements - ensuring cost savings realization.
  • Participate and provide subject matter inputs to the stipulation of contract requirement pertaining to IT hardware and software/applications.
  • Facilitate transition of new contracts (from projects) - ensuring sustainability of new IT vendor/contract relationship.
  • Ensure compliance to IT contract stipulations, while adhering to procurement policies.
  • Manage financial performance on IT contract portfolio, including budgeting, management analysis, and reporting.
  • Conduct financial administration, including invoice approvals and monthly reconciliation/accruals.
  • Monitor and review performance of service providers with respect to service level agreements (SLAs)
  • Analyze service data and metrics to ensure its legitimacy and relevancy
  • Evaluate the service level methodology and service metrics for improvement opportunities
  • Provide recommendation to integrate SLAs with the operational level agreements (OLAs) and underpinning contracts as appropriate
  • Establish and provide internal management report reflecting the performance of service providers
  • Participate in the governance oversight of ITIL based service management practices such as incident, change, configuration, release and problem management
  • Monitor and reconcile the usage of resource units and related invoicing as part of the outsource service contracts such as servers, desktops, laptops, database, storage, and other key data center entities, etc
  • Monitor the financial performance, perform financial analysis, and provide regular forecast pertaining to the outsource service contract
  • Participate in the planning and prioritization of service directives and the change order process
  • Collaborate with other IT stakeholders (e.g. IT Architecture, IT Security, Technology Services, Business Architecture, Contract Services, Procurement, etc) in the provisioning of IT business solutions
  • Work with other 3rd party vendors in the evaluation of technology solution options
  • Identify opportunities and implement recommendations to improve contract management processes.
Requirement or Qualifications:
The candidates are expected to have demonstrated capability in the following areas:
  • Successful candidate is preferred to have BA or BSc in Computer Science, Engineering.
  • Desired 12 years' experience managing IT projects, either in Business or IT Infrastructure domains.
  • Candidate would be successful if they demonstrated the ability to apply their technical knowledge and experience to facilitate management decisions for achieving business objectives.
  • Proven ability to persuade, convince, influence or impress others.
