Job Description:
Our client has a requirement for a Solutions Developer for a 6 month contract opportunity.  The position is located in Mississauga.

• Performs day-to-day services layer administration for Shared Services
• Performs 3rd level support and maintenance for Shared Services
• Collects and reports on application functional performance
• Maintain a thorough understanding of all job-related functions to ensure work volumes are processed accurately and effectively on a day-to-day basis
• Work effectively as a team, supporting other members of the team

Requirement or Qualifications:

• 3+ years of Services management & Support, Infrastructure Support, System Administration and/or Integration Support
• Advanced knowledge of IBM WebSphere application servers
• In depth knowledge of J2EE, Shared Services related technologies and UML Modeling
• Technical background in integration technologies and concepts (Shared Services technology, Messaging, middleware, Java EE, SOA)
• Technically proficiency with current and potential IT concepts & operations
• Experience with SOA governance principles, service catalogue and/or Service lifecycle management
• Knowledge of Infrastructure domain technologies would be an asset
• Advanced knowledge of process used to deploy supported hardware/ software/ applications
• Advanced knowledge of operating systems and other infrastructure components functions and features
• Sound knowledge of scripting and command language syntax and of relevant programming language(s)
• Sound knowledge of security policies, existing monitoring process and framework
• Sound knowledge of relevant peripheral technologies such as networks, storage, databases, etc.
• Basic knowledge of support and development tools
• Sound knowledge of the Bank’s technology standards as they apply to computing infrastructure and business applications
• Performs installation, configuration and system administration of computing infrastructure components and/or operating systems of moderate to high complexity
• Installs, configures and upgrades business applications in co-ordination with application support
• Develop scripts using appropriate tools to address gaps in the application, to simplify and enhance the application environment
• Provides guidance/direction to other team members
• Works under minimal management supervision
• Understands the business, Bank standards, infrastructure, architecture and technology in related areas
• Performs problem determination including data gathering and analysis

Other Qualifications:
• Knowledge of SDLC methodologies
• Demonstrated ability to grasp and translate technical concepts, think independently, and take the initiative required to resolve issues in a team structure.
• Highly flexible and able to quickly adapt to changing priorities
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to research, analyze, design and resolve problems for assigned programs
• Highly organized, self-motivated, customer oriented and able to work independently as well as within a team
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
• A positive can-do attitude.
• Openness to promoting knowledge sharing
• Proficiency in MS Office Applications
• Financial Institution or similar experience is preferred
