Job Description:
Our client has a requirement for Application Support for a 3 months Contract opportunity. The positions are located in Calgary, Alberta
In this Application Support role, you will provide technical and business application software support to end users of O&G software applications in the areas of Capital Projects, Supply Chain Management and EH&S (Environment, Health & Safety). Your ability to troubleshoot, work with other IT groups and resolve end user application issues will be your core operational activity.

Requirement or Qualifications:
Qualified Candidates will have:
- 3+ years experience working as an application support specialist - preference for experience supporting upstream oil and gas applications
- A solid understanding of hardware and software architectures
- Understanding and some experience with networks, operating systems and hardware
- Prior experience with software deployment as well as an understanding of application dependencies and delivery methods (e.g. Zen, Citrix, Weblogic)
- Prior application and data integration experience as well as an understanding of information security procedures and guidelines
- Prior experience liaising with vendors regarding user issues on such matters as: upgrade problems; co-ordinating vendor requests for system access; database refresh; other information as required
- Experience creating tickets in an incident tracking system
- Some technical experience and understanding of how to perform production changes, database refreshes, running scripts (TQA or other environments) to test results prior to running in production
- Experience monitoring weekly production changes - this includes ensuring production changes have approval prior to moving to production
- Experience communicating support updates to stakeholders and notifying the business of any outages
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities
