About the Job
Our client is a privately held organization in the Insurance world. They have experience tremendous growth and characterize themselves by their innate passion for the industry. Due to growth, they are currently looking to add an experienced Account Manager to their team.
An account manager is an experienced professional with an assigned list of corporate accounts that is accountable in terms of customer satisfaction, problem resolution and retention. The account manager also has assigned sales targets for adding new corporate clients. These accounts can range in size from small businesses to major corporations with several thousand employees.

Key Responsibilities
Check and identify accounts that are likely to become a bad debtor “zero balance” account and contact the clients to retain them;
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with Plan Administrators, Insurance Brokers , Independent financial advisers and internal sales force.
- Introduce new products and promote them through regular visits and frequent communication with intermediaries.
- Increase profitability of existing product lines by encouraging clients to use added value services wherever possible.
- Ensure credibility with clients by maintaining detailed knowledge of current market conditions and competitors’ products.
- Ensure compliance with regulations and procedures as laid down by the financial services authority (FSA) keeping up to date with all changes in the regulatory framework.
- Work with underwriters to amend policies where necessary in order to meet client demand.
- Gain new business by identifying and exploiting opportunities in the local market.
- Prepare and report on market analysis, competitor analysis and market trends.
Requirements or Qualifications
- 6-10 years of relevant experience
- Experience meeting and exceeding quotas
- Natural leadership experience
- License must be up to date
- Strong negotiator
Education
- A college degree (bachelor's) is required. Insurance products are very complex and demand an ability to perform and explain complex financial analysis during client meetings. A professional account manager should be able to understand the business requirements of many organizations.
- Relationship Skills
- The person in the account manager position must be able to create and maintain strong personal relationships with clients. The manager must be comfortable making presentations to all levels of management and be able to explain complex products in an understandable manner. Additionally, since sales are part of the responsibility, the account manager must be comfortable calling prospects to add business to portfolio of accounts. Sharp negotiation skills are required for both renewals and new business solicitation.
